Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) apply to all goods and services available through the website under the domain name www.joeymedicalschool.com.au (the “Website”) and Joey Medical School. When purchasing any goods or services from Joey Medical School the purchaser signifies their agreement to be bound by these terms.

 

1. Bookings and Payments

1.1 All booking enquiries must be made through direct contact with Joey Medical School via online booking system, phone or email (support@joeymedicalschool.com.au) in advance. This is essential to determine if a vacancy is available in the desired class or workshop.

1.2 Joey Medical School will confirm a place in a class or workshop once payment has been confirmed.

 

1.3 Full programme fee must be paid before the commencement of the class.

2. Classes

 

2.1 All classes are capped and Joey Medical School reserves the right to modify the cap number as it is deemed necessary.

 

2.2 Punctuality is crucial. Children should be dropped off and picked up within 5 minutes of starting and finishing times. All children must be signed in and out by their parent or carer via one of our tablet located at the front door. We do not accept late pick-ups, due to staffing requirements. Failure to collect your child five (5) minutes after the class ends will incur $10 per child/ per 15 minutes to cover overtime staffing costs. This will be invoiced against your account and future bookings will not be accepted until paid.

 

2.3 Doors may be locked during class for security reasons.

 

2.4 All children enrolled are expected to behave appropriately and follow the instruction of Joey Medical School’s instructors. Joey Medical School reserves the right to refuse admission to any participant who poses a disciplinary problem or disrupts other children in their learning.

 

2.5 Children are expected to participate in all activities offered in the program. It is the parent’s responsibility to familiarise with the program and to advise Joey Medical School in writing if you do not wish for your child/ren to participate in a particular activity.

 

2.6 Please ensure Joey Medical School staff members are made aware of any information you deem important in relation to your child/ren and/or family (such as excessive fears, toileting, behavioral styles, interests and abilities, cultural values and religious beliefs).

2.7 Parents (or carer) must be contactable at all times during class.

2.8 If someone other than a parent or family member is likely to be picking up your child, Joey Medical School must be informed prior to the event.

 

2.9 No credits or refunds are given for non-attendance through the child.

2.10 One make-up class may be offered per programme.

2.11 No make-up class will be provided if notification of absence is not received at least one (1) day prior to the beginning of class. This policy also applies to scheduled make-up classes.

 

2.12 Make-up class must be scheduled in advance. Classes are typically arranged during another scheduled class time or designated make-up sessions. Make-up classes are arranged to the best of our abilities.

 

2.13 Make-up class is not guaranteed and is subject to availability of slots and classes.

 

2.14 Make-up class is not transferable.

 

2.15 In the event of illness, make-up class will be arranged when adequate notice is given.

 

2.16 In the event of cancellation by Joey Medical School, lessons can be made-up, credits carried forward, or refunded. Refunds are processed within seven (7) business days.

3. Programme

3.1 To secure a place in a program, enrolments must be paid for online, in full at the time of booking, through Joey Medical School’s online platform. All purchases of Joey Medical School’s merchandise are final as per the online order. Purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable except in the event of a genuine fault with the item purchased.

 

3.2 The programmes offered by Joey Medical School are open exclusively to children aged 4 to 12 years. Please note that individual programmes may have specific age requirements. The school reserves the right to decline enrolment for any child who does not meet the age eligibility criteria. Applications for children outside the 4 to 12 age range will not be accepted.

3.3 All programmes are capped and Joey Medical School reserves the right to modify the cap number as it is deemed necessary.

3.4 Joey Medical School reserves the right to change the start and finishing times of the class.

3.5 Children affected by such a change will be notified as soon as any change is made and if necessary offered another time or a full refund.

4. Cancellation and refunds

4.1 Any requests or payment of refunds by Joey Medical School will incur a $5 administration fee.

4.2 Should a class or program need to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, participants will be notified and either offered a similar class or program or a full refund.

 

4.3 Up to 7 days before a scheduled program, Joey Medical School will accept a cancellation and refund any payment, less the non-refundable administration fee.

4.4 No refunds will be issued within 7 days prior to the scheduled start of a class or workshop, or once a program has commenced, regardless of attendance, as resources and staffing are confirmed in advance.

4.5 Joey Medical School reserves the right at any time to negotiate, change or vary the terms and conditions in clauses 4.1 to 4.4 above as it deems appropriate.

5. Photography and Filming Consent

5.1 Photos and videos may be taken during our workshops. You agree and authorise Joey Medical School and its associated entities to collect and use media as outlined in 5.2.

5.2 Usage

Photos and videos may be used for sharing updates with parents/guardians and for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and printed flyers. We will not use images for any other purposes without obtaining additional explicit consent.

5.3 Privacy & Safety

We do not publish children's full names alongside images and avoid sharing identifiable personal details. All personal information collected is handled strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Images are selected carefully to ensure they are respectful, appropriate, and depict positive workshop experiences. Where possible, we utilise group or activity-based photos rather than individual close-ups.

5.4 Opt-Out Management

Parents or carers wishing to opt out must submit a written request to info@joeymedicalschool.com.au prior to the workshop. Upon receipt of an opt-out request, relevant staff will be notified and reasonable steps will be taken to ensure the specified child is excluded from all media capture.

5.5 Storage & Security

Photos and videos are stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel. Media is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purposes.

5.6 Ownership & Rights

You acknowledge and agree that Joey Medical School retains all copyright and intellectual property rights in any footage and images taken during our workshops.

 

6. Health and Safety

6.1 All children who are ill or infectious must not attend classes.

6.2 Participants must adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions regarding the use of any materials and tools.

6.3 At the end of each class or workshop day participants are expected to help clean their work area.

6.4 Joey Medical School is not responsible for the safety of children outside their class times.

6.5 Children who attend class with a friend (and whose parents have not completed an enrolment form), become the responsibility of the parents of the fully enrolled child.

6.6 No responsibility will be taken for dirty clothes, however all children will be provided with a scrub/lab coat during the class.

6.7 In the event of an accident, injury, trauma or illness suffered by your child, you agree that Joey Medical School staff members are authorised to seek or where appropriate administer such medical treatment as is reasonably required.

7. Privacy Policy

7.1 Joey Medical School respects individual privacy.

7.2 Any personal information provided to Joey Medical School will be used to administer classes and workshops. Email address provided to Joey Medical School will be added to its internal email distribution list.

7.3 Joey Medical School operates an emailing list for newsletters and information dissemination concerning Joey Medical School goods and services only. Participants’ can request their email address to be removed from Joey Medical School emailing list at any time.

8. Disclaimer

8.1 Participants undertaking classes or workshops with Joey Medical School expressly acknowledge that in the course of undertaking classes or workshops use is made of paints, inks, chemicals, tools, utensils and other materials which are dangerous and the classes or workshops are undertaken and these materials are used at the participants own risk.

8.2 Joey Medical School will not be held responsible for accidents or loss of property in connection with any child’s participation in the program, except where the accident or loss of property is directly attributable to Joey Medical School’s negligence or failure to comply with its legal requirements.
